Imagine where we would be if the policeman wasn't armed he had plenty time to get away while they were interrogating the wrong guy sadly..unless of course it emerges he was a decoy

Oh, I'm just filling in the gaps in the thread, theres a lot of confusion and false claims about refugees, Merkel and Muslim ideologies, and I think its appropriate to clear up the confusion as soon as we have information on it.. It still could very easily be an ISIS-inspired attack (I think that was one of your posts, I agreed with it anyhow), although I think a second debate is now open for this guy just thriving off being a criminal and living his life in the only sad way he knew of. I'm not sure if his motives matter an awful lot, especially when all anybody can do is guess.. its still the same tragic end result.

The terrorist behind Monday's deadly attack on a Berlin Christmas market swore allegiance to ISIS before dying in a wee-hours shootout with police in Milan Friday, some some 675 miles from the scene of Monday's carnage.

Anis Amri, the 24-year-old Tunisian whose monstrous attack sparked a 72-hour manhunt and raised questions about Germany's inability to come to grips with radicals among its burgeoning refugee population, was killed in the Sesto San Giovanni district of the northern Italian city, police said.Islamist terror suspect in Berlin attack killed in shootout in Milan

But getting into a different country requires passports and everything doesn't it? He managed to travel nearly 1,000 miles before they happened to come across him. Really doesn't exactly distil you full of confidence that he managed to slip through quite so many nets does it?

Yeah you're right.Freedom of movement is a terrible idea when there are terrorists wanting to attack the continent. The EU needs to seriously rethink Schengen now.

the liberal left, especially merkel, only do one thing in this situation, put there heads into the sand and put there fingers into there ears, I hear that many in the german police force are saying that merkel is insane, and some in the CDU party got wind of this, and they want to press charges on the policeman who have said this, this is more proof that merkel is more interested to persecute the german people, rather than to tackle islamic extremism, merkel's obsession with trying to change germany is a very dangerous thing to do, to open up the borders and to let in millions of people who have a different culture and religion and even norms will not bring tolerance or mutual respect, but will bring in war, terror, rape, and murder, merkels arrogance has put people at risk, and the situation will get worse very soon next year,

Indeed. Practically every Islamic country is at war with someone, often in-fighting between different types of Muslims Ie Sunni/Shia, they can't even get on between themselves - so what are the odds of it working in the West who they hate even more than each other.

The more that come in the more extremists and their supporters will enter our countries. Things will only get worse unless something is done now. I consider it a crime against our people to put them at this increased risk and blood will be on the hands of the politicians responsible.

I agree. It's like some crazy experiment. It's never going to end well.Just flood the continent and watch the fireworks.Forcing opposing ideologies together on a mass scale is a recipe for unrest and violence. It's insane.

It is insane. Brexit and the election of Trump are a clear indication of the concerns and frustrations of a massive number of people regarding mass migration and its many negative affects on the West.

We elect our politicians to serve us the people and it is their responsibility to do what is best for the people that elected them. Their priority should be Western subjects not those wanting to come here or political correctness.

What the hell do we elect these people for. It is supposed to be for what is best for the British/Western people not for what is best for their own political careers and personal financial gain.

Untruth or not, this is about adding fear to the general public whilst allowing this murderer to recieve some sort of status.

The sort of people who are perpetrating these acts are just criminals with mental health issues. In the Berlin case, the murderer was already a criminal before deciding to aggrandize his crimes as ‘serving a greater purpose’. There are plenty of lone people with mental illness and the sort of person who is/was willing and capable of perpetrating horrible acts is the sort of person that would of done it anyway, but the ISIS thing gives them something to hang on, they can feel supported if they align themselves with a terrorist organization and we, the public, reassure the perpetrator that he will be remembered as a terrorist and not just a murderer.

Exactly DR. I'm constantly amazed that in a post 9/11 world people STILL don't seem to understand the goal of terrorism (hint: IT'S IN THE ****ING NAME) and are willing - nay, desperate - to confirm repeatedly that it is working. Allowing ISIS to take credit for every attack whether it was ISIS planned or not, quite simply, gives them the tools to create martyrs, radicalise more extremists, kill more innocent people and spread more terror to achieve their goals of destroying Western freedom, liberty and individuality. Hello snoopers charter, come on in, have a cup of tea.

Branding them insane / petty murderers rather than Jihadists / Holy Warriors takes away their power and takes away part of what makes other lone-wolf would be martyrs want to do this sort of thing. They WANT to be remembered as Jihadists. That's WHY they do it, ffs.

Jihadists are just petty cowardly murderers, nothing more. The rest is in their stupid, ignorant, primitive little heads. Deluded idiots who only attract other deluded idiots to their so-called cause. They are simply inadequate fools. Isn't that the point that they are all equally moronic and no one but the equally moronic credit them as anything more. ISIS=Moron.

The only ones giving them any real power are the politically correct fools who can't see further than the end of their noses.

There are lots of variables to Jihadism but ISIS are not one of those variables.

ISIS are Salafi (an offshoot of Wahhabism) and their warring is about reform of the Islamic faith.

Jihadists could be loyalists to their government or against their government. Jihadism could be an unhealthy divide between Shiites and Sunni and Jihad can also mean “internal struggle” which has nothing to do with being militarized. Most importantly, the use of force within 'Jihad' has some very strict exclusions which include no harm to women, children and vulnerable people such as the handicapped.

Jihad is not a declaration of war against their own or other religions and therefore ISIS are not Jihadists.

In other words, you want to be able to call them whatever you want to call them, pretty much purely for your own satisfaction, with little or no regard for what will actually improve the situation or reduce the likelihood of future indoctrination, future attacks, or future killings. Well... So long as you're able to get your fill of righteous rage I suppose it's all worth something...
