![]() The Grenada leg of the Earl and the Countess of Wessex's Caribbean tour has been postponed, a day before their week-long trip begins. The decision was made after talks with the island's government and governor general, Buckingham Palace said. Prince Edward and Sophie will still visit other islands on the tour to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were criticised for some parts of their recent Caribbean tour. A Buckingham Palace source said discussions were held with host nations to ensure the itinerary would meet the aims of the tour, which are to celebrate the islands and mark the Queen's 70-year reign. Within those discussions, Grenada - on the advice of Dame Cecile La Grenade, its governor general and the Queen's representative in the country - suggested a postponement. Prince Edward and Sophie hope to visit the island at a later date, the palace said. Their tour of three Caribbean nations - St Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua and Barbuda - will begin on Friday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61183853 ------------------------------ This jubilee isnt being received very well by the commonwealth ![]() |

Seems like ‘recollections may vary’ is no longer the way forward: senior courtiers have revealed:
Harry’s meeting with the Queen lasted just over 13 minutes (not 40). Meghan didn’t attend the meeting. Certain 'business' was discussed (speculation at the moment that it was the Counsellor of State issue.) Neil Sean/Richard Kay I guess Harry's version sounds good for the American audience to boost the ‘great connection’ to the Queen for their brand. ……and Harry’s version of a great community in Montecito which welcomed them with open arms is baffling to the residents as they have never seen them or speak to them. Harry is seen occasionally on his bike or walking on the beach but no interactions. (Times Article). |

Living in denial. Harry and Meghan will continue to put on a front...they will continue to feed the press what they want to be reported in the knowledge that the Royals will not respond....unlike the Residents of Montecito ![]() Its really sad when you have to pretend to be something you are not. |

‘William at 40’, a new book by Robert Jobson. Sheds light on the family pressures that shaped the future King.
This extract is an interesting read about William and Harry’s childhoods - and their naughy antics…. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...e-William.html 'Papa doesn't embarrass me... Mama does': Prince William was the crutch for a troubled mother while his brother revelled in freedom of being the 'spare'. Now a new book by ROBERT JOBSON sheds light on the family pressures that shaped our future king The unhappy Diana treated the young William as if he was an adult, and she the child….. [For William, school was not only fun but a respite from his mother’s increasing tendency to lean on him as an emotional crutch. Later, even Diana privately admitted she went too far in burdening him with her problems. She had taken to calling William ‘the man in my life’, and he did his best to be supportive — once telling her that he wanted to be a policeman so he could protect her. But he was only ten when his parents officially separated in 1992. After their divorce was finalised, and William learned that his mother would be stripped of her royal title, he threw his arms around her and exclaimed: ‘Don’t worry, Mummy. I’ll give it back to you one day, when I’m king.’ Even so, he sometimes felt uncomfortable at being appointed her champion. After he went to Eton, she would often ring him there, sometimes crying hysterically down the line….] ![]() |

She got involved with a man almost twice her age when she was a 16 year old child, and he ended up marrying her and having two children with her all the while with both of them knowing full well that he was in love with someone else.
So yeah she was probably a little troubled by the end. Last edited by user104658; 25-04-2022 at 12:45 PM. |

![]() William, as a grown man doesn't say 'owt', while Harry, who knows the Americans adored his mother, makes sure he mentions her ad nauseum to benefit himself. |

All this comes down to harry and William's race, when harry beat him in front of the cameras..and mocked him whilst doing so...its simply the stiffness of the british.
Sad really, everyone could have still been happy. |

The joint tour, the last time you saw them United. What happened from that to now... That's my question. |

Jealousy… I think growing up Harry loved being ‘the spare’….when they reached adulthood he suddenly realised being ‘the spare’ made him feel inferior. His want of taking control of his own life but keeping his titles and status in another country gave him a sense of superiority that he could never have over William had he stayed here. However….his manipulation of the truth that he knows will go unchallenged by family members is starting to reveal itself from insiders who can and will speak on their behalf. |
