BUTCHER Ashley Peacock and his family will bid “au revoir” to the Street – bymoving to France in a cheeky “froggie bashing” storyline.

Corrie favourites Ashley and Claire – played by Julia Howarth and Steven Arnold – have been axed by new boss Phil Collinson. They survive the Christmas tram crash that wipes out a string of characters. But Ashley faces pressure to leave with their sons and Claire’s mum Yvonne.

He tells Claire: “They don’t need butchers over there because all they do is eat onions.” He is backed by cabbie Lloyd Mullaney, who says: “All they do is sit in cafes gurning and shrugging their shoulders”

Pal Steve McDonald warns that France’s President Sarkozy is “in the pockets of the Germans” and tells Ash to fight Claire and Yvonne “on the beaches of Normandy”. But Ashley finally admits defeat.

lol they're always being mentioned but never seen, then they bumbled into the Salon on Friday xD I can't see Ashley moving to France, maybe the storyline is half true, but it turns out they don't go, they'll probably leave the street and move somewhere else in England

And I was wondering, how was the new bar supposed to be damaged if the tram crash badly if it goes like this:

Hmm you're right, and I think the Joinery bar is the part that collapses...

you can see where the top point of the viaduct is, if it was to go flying off at that height, I can see it taking out the Kabin and Corner shop still

I suppose what they could do is,



the viaduct collapses on the big black splodge, and then the tram flies into the Kabin and the second one sort of rolls off and hits the corner shop

Aye, that's similar to the Mirror's pic, I can see it happening if the track falls slightly sideways as the tram goes over it, then the track and tram topple off!
