Hey guys, seeing as everybody enjoyed my knowledgable post last week about ratings, I thought I'd share this video about 5Creative, the team behind the design of Channel 5. It gives some great behind the scenes looks, plus it contains a little about BB and their improved family ratings.
What I found most interesting, is that although Channel 5, the main channels share continues to rise and fall, and surprisingly, despite Secrets and Lies obtaining 1.9m in officials, 2013 was a poor year for the channel in percentage ratings (the worst since it's launch year, way back in 1997!); 2010 - 4.5% 2011 - 4.4% 2012 - 4.5% 2013 - 4.1% The actual shares of the Channel 5 family continues to grow however.. perhaps that's due to +1 and +24 viewing as well as its other spin off channels like 5* for people to watch both BB and other shows... 2010 - 5.9% 2011 - 5.92% 2012 - 5.98% 2013 - 5.99% Last edited by Kai Anders; 27-07-2014 at 01:09 PM. |

Saturday night’s episode was watched by less than 900,000 viewers on Channel 5 yesterday, a low point for the series

1.25m incl +1. Smack down in the middle, 8 Sunday ratings, this was the 4th highest. So mediocre for a Sunday.
Doesn't seem it will increase from now on ![]() |

Friday eviction almost the lowest of the week; really think they should move the evictions to a Sunday; it usually gets decent ratings and over the Summer there isn't much competition.
Maybe not for the celebrity series, especially January, but over the Summer a Sunday eviction could be what they need. |

1.17m excl +1 (7.3%), so around 1.25m incl +1 I would guess, and that would be the same as Sunday. That's a pretty decent share though. It came 3rd in its slot beating BBC2 and Ch4.

The shares have been pretty decent for a show that's getting 1.2 million. With plus 1 (80,000) last night got 1.25. Last edited by daniel-lewis-1985; 29-07-2014 at 11:43 AM. |

I wonder what CBB will achieve? Considering officials for the first launch of Power Trip got 2.46m I'm going to go ahead and say CBB gets 2.55m, a small increase but pretty flat.

The summer cbb has got similar ratings to civilian bb in the past its the January version that really achieves big numbers for the channel

Juts won't budge from the 1.2m. Another 1.2m rating, not sure the accurate, decimal rating yet though. Channel 5 share wise beat Ch4 last night in primetime.
Apart from UB, Ch4 had a bad day, BB still out-rating Utopia by TRIPLE. Five inc +1 Cricket - 700,000 Dog Rescuers - 1.1m CSI - 1.2m BB - 1.2m Four inc +1 C4 News - 500,000 Kirsty's Fill Your House Free - 1m Undercover Boss, - 1.5m Utopia - 400,000 |

What are you expecting? Not a lot of mid-series advertisement, little advertisement in the papers, people are ever so slightly bored of the series, it's the last few weeks. Ratings will not pick up. Armageddon was our best hope for a new start and that failed appallingly once that ended. The share of 6.6% is still well above Channel 5s regular share, and all in all the channel did very well for the night. Much better than other shows, such as with Channel 4.
