i have no idea, i'm trying to not follow the tabloids. I hate to think that now she'll be in Bobby Browns's custody though. i hope some other members of Whitney's family will take custody of her now. Bobby Brown should be kept as far away as possible imo.

I understand the whole addiction thing, but I don't buy into the whole "poor thing felt worthless" idea. Addicts I've known have been terribly self-centred.They don't take drugs because they hate themselves, they take drugs because it makes them feel good, and then they're hooked.

I am sorry that she's dead, but I'm surprised at the massive outpouring of grief for a woman who, while she was a good singer, had been a total mess for years and now seems to have been elevated to the status of tortured martyr.

Really? so when she was getting the crap beaten out of her by Bobby Brown, that was cause it made her feel good? WTF are you talking about. All of the addicts i know use addiction as an escape because they usually have much worse things going on in their lives.

I can't really say that I've known any addicts tbh, but I do believe that no one else can help them...they have to do it themselves...so what you say is fair comment

This is my view too... A death is a death, it's sad because that was a person who loved and was loved by other people. Obviously as an iconic singer, she meant a lot to a lot of people, and that is a shame too. I don't think there's much point lamenting what might have been if she hadn't met Bobby Brown or blaming him for what happened to her - nobody but the two of them would have known the ins and outs of their situation and it's unfair to make him a scapegoat.

?! Anyone who chooses to take drugs has only themselves to blame. You can throw "oh but ___'s circumstances were so hard that they turned to drugs" and that's a valid point, if you want to try and understand why someone chose to turn to drugs. But it is almost always a choice. It's only not a choice when someone literally forces you to stick a needle in your arm or something, and I'm thinking of the kind of underground seedy trafficking culture when I say that, not talking about celebrities who turn to drugs. Nobody said anything about it being a publicity stunt, and how very ridiculous to compare -ist or -phobic attitudes to an anti-drugs stance. You've essentially just called people who think taking drugs are bad to being the same as people who hate other people for something they can't change about themselves. Are you born addicted to drugs? Only if your mother was. Drugs are a choice. That is a fact.

Addicts come from all backgrounds, and we can never know what put whitney on this path, i will agree that it makes addicts feel good but i have NEVER met an addict i would describe as self-centred. Underlying social and psychological issues are usually the main reason why people turn to drugs.
