Thnx to Troy, Hayden and Valmafra for the suggestions I don't have the time to go through all the seasons in chronological order (hence why I'm picking out a handful to watch over the next few months, starting with the earlier ones), so hopefully I'll be vaguely caught up by the time this season actually airs!

In the mean time, I've decided to fairly arbitrarily root for Colin and Christie despite them being one of the few pairs I've never actually seen in action, because that's how easily influenced I am, and hoping for... idk, Chris and Bret to be first out? (obviously Laura Boneham has a special place in my heart as well)

I'll probably watch 5 next tbh, unless either of 1, 2 or 4 are considered absolutely vital viewing (if I find time, I'll try and get round to watching all of the early seasons before I get to the first All-Stars, but for now I have to prioritise, goddammit)

Them and Becca/Floyd aside, I get the impression that it won't be a total travesty if I haven't caught up on any other of the teams' original seasons before s31 airs. But I'll see what I can do!

1 and 2 are both very good and I would definitely recommend, as would anyone! And 4 was "bad" at the time but then we got actual bad seasons and 4 aged a lot better.

And yes, the only TAR teams worth experiences going into this are Colin/Christie and Becca/Floyd. Like I don't think Leo/Jamal are that bad at all in the grand scheme of things but Art/JJ and Tyler/Korey are exactly what you would expect from "border patrol agents" and "annoying YouTuber" respectively.

I'm looking forward to this despite a poor survivor/tar cast but I'm excited for Rachel/Elissa and Janelle/Britney

Elena and Mark were apparently a confirmed team but got swapped for Victor and Nicole... Also Amanda and Andy were in casting but Amanda had another show ..and James and Corey were in casting and they told James to quit his job so he did and they told him to get his job back
