It was never in a studio before was it? Wasn't it like in the middle of no where?

There used to be far more fans as evictions back in the day than there currently is now.

For the first couple of series the house was actually in a house set at Three Mills studios, in London, the production company had problems with that and it was demolished for development of the area it was in.

The current house is on a studio set in the Elstree/Borehamwood studios:

The Elstree complex offers a better facility in that the studio lot BB is filmed on has more immediate facilities, eg collocated studios for BBLB, offices for Endemol production staff, the area immediately outside can cope with eviction and Final night crowds and stages etc.
