Maybe the aim of the task was not actually to passed the task, because Ben never actually tried doing his tasks.

The aim was to see if they would do it knowing ben never makes the effort jj is stupid enough to let the fact its obvious go straight over his head and start an argument with ben about it.
jj is a bb producers dream he is as thick as 2 short planks and as a result they can just mould him like putty and get him to do anything they want.
