Maybe she was curious, checking him out, that he's not a fraud.

They both want to trust each other more.

thenn she runs straight to Jo repeating what she has learned - that he is loaded and had spent 10,000 pounds(?) on a car for a previous GF and was looking forward to buying her (Josie) designer dresses. How crazy is that? Josie, JJames - and his mother - are into it for the money, IMO.

I'm a bit fuzzy, but i think it all stemmed from about 3 weeks ago when Josie & Caoimhe where having a conversation with John, and he mentioned he didn't come on the show for the money, coz he was already quite "well off". Then he mentioned he had a sports car or something, and Josie asked him exactly how wealthy he was - ie. if he's a millionaire or whatever, and he wouldn't say. Then they started pulling numbers out of the air, trying to guess or get an idea of his wealth, and i think he balked a about half a million, so they guessed that was about what he had in the bank.

So, in fairness to Josie (and i'm not a fan of her's), i think John primed the initial conversation by stating he wasn't interested in the 100K, and would give it all to charity, because he was already loaded!
