MTV has ordered a pilot for a TV adaptation of the movie franchise Scream.

The network is in the process of making an hour-long pilot for the horror show, in the hopes of airing a full series from summer 2014.

While MTV has yet to find a writer, it is believed to be in discussions with Wes Craven - the director of all four Scream films - to oversee the pilot.

The project, which was first rumoured last year, is being made in association with Dimension Films.

Craven recently revealed that there are no plans in place for a fifth Scream film.

If it wasn't MTV doing it I'd be interested, Harper's Island was a fun watch so the format could work on TV. I doubt you could ever get more then one season out of it though.
