He probably knew he'd be up himself and wanted to nominate just to help get Gina up because he believes as long as she is up, he'll be safe.

He did nothing but lecture her about how she's coming across and knew it wouldn't serve her well so he wants her to go to save himself.

Bitched about him? By agreeing that he is faking the whole Charlie thing? Okkk. And Gina nominating him week 2 was completely different. She didnt want to nominate him and at the time no one in the house trusted Dexter. She then took the time after nominating him to get to know him and befriend him when no one would.
