Housemates lose free final pass - Article

Housemates lose Big Brother 2013 final free pass
None of the Big Brother 2013 housemates will receive the free pass to the final after they failed to reach a unanimous verdict on who it should go to, it’s been confirmed.
Tonight, the group was gathered around the dining table to face their latest challenge, with Big Brother dimming the lights and putting on his best serious voice to create a tense mood.
Everyone listened carefully as Big Brother announced that there was a golden ticket to the grand final up for grabs – but only if they all privately voted for the same person to get it.
Each housemate was given a short time to make a pitch explaining why they deserved the coveted prize, before they all engaged in a group discussion.
“I’m putting Sophie down,” said Jack. “I don’t have a doubt that Sophie will be in the final. I’ve literally got no doubts at all.”
“I’m voting for you, either you or Gina, but I was thinking more you because obviously you are worried,” replied Sophie. “I’ve got no worries about Gina at all.”
“We should just all make a unanimous decision to put somebody through, regardless of our friends, regardless of anything else,” urged Dexter. “There’s no point in wasting the ticket, even if it’s not people we wanted to vote for, why waste the ticket? That is the opportunity of a lifetime.”
However, Joe argued: “Personally I think we should all be up. This is the public’s show. If I was watching at home and the housemates chose who to save, I’d be annoyed.”
“Leave it to the public, they’ve supported who they’ve supported the whole way,” agreed Charlie.
Following Big Brother’s safe house lie two weeks ago – which saw the supposedly immune Dan getting booted out in a surprise eviction – Dexter also suspected that there may have been something fishy afoot, saying: “You could instantly be putting them on the firing line as well.”
Eventually, it was time for the vote – which was carried out in an election style, with housemates marking crosses on their ballot papers. The results were as follows:
Gina voted for Sam
Jack and Joe voted for Sophie
Sam voted for Gina
Sophie voted for Jack and Joe
Charlie voted for Dexter
Dexter voted for Sophie
Shortly afterwards, Big Brother confirmed: “As housemates failed to reach a unanimous vote, the pass to the final has now been lost.”
Housemates will nominate face-to-face during the live part of tomorrow night’s highlights show for the last eviction, which take place this Friday, ahead of the final on Monday 19th August.
