I can't help wondering, if now that there are two houses, the 44 paltry minutes of actual footage (10 of which are usually repeats of the day before) will be slashed even further to about 20 minutes for each house?

That wouldn't surprise me tbh - they used the house layout from CBB17 for the extension planning application and the old Diary Room is still there for some reason.

Yeah perhaps they've lowered the entrance level to be next to the corridor and enclosed it a lot more.

I was sure the diary room would move to the front of the house, in between the current and new extension. So both houses could access it via the corridor that joins the houses. And this corridor would be where the BB16 kitchen was...
