BIG Brother bully Jade Goody last night launched a desperate bid to revive her flagging career – as “The Princess Diana of Reality TV”.

In her first public appearance since the show’s race row she took part in a debate about reality TV and Big Brother – the show that made her famous.

She was introduced to the 500-strong audience as “The Princess Diana of Reality TV” – because of the highs and lows she has suffered since finding fame in the BB house.

Asked if she thought she was still a celebrity she replied: “I’ve never looked on myself as a celebrity.

“I think I am an annoying person.

“I’m famous for being a loser. I’m famous for nothing. I don’t have talent.

“Celebrities have talent, like writers, singers and actors.

“Going on Big Brother worked for me the first time, but it didn’t work this time.

“But I am not one of those people who is going blame others for what has happened.

“They can’t edit me to look thick if I am.”

During the debate – “Reality TV: The New Reality?” at the posh South Bank Centre in London Jade admitted the Channel 4 show had been fairly edited.

And she refused to blame telly bosses for broadcasting her rants against Indian winner Shilpa Shetty, 31, who she once branded “Shilpa Poppadom”.

She said: “I controlled myself in that house. There was no one pulling strings.

“They didn’t fix my mouth. I said those things. It was me.

“They could have cut it out but why should they? It’s reality TV.”

The 25-year-old former dental nurse had the audience tittering as she came out with a string of daft Jade-isms throughout the 90-minute debate.

She talked about the “controservy” that appea-ring on Celebrity Big Brother had caused.

She then claimed that Crimewatch was a reality TV show and admitted that she had no idea who Tony Blair was when shown a photo of the Prime Minister.

The event was hosted by broadcaster Matthew Wright, 41, and on the panel were fellow Celebrity Big Brother star and MP George Galloway, 52, and Tim Hincks a top producer from Endemol UK who make Big Brother.

Jade said she hoped that she could now move forward and put the whole race row behind her.

And she added: “I may have offended people by what I said but I think people are now seeing beyond this and they are giving me another chance.”

Earlier, Jade had thrown a hissy fit and banned cameras from the high-profile event demanding “privacy” at the public appearance.

Hold on, Jade never said she was the new lady Di. She was annonced as that. Also, you might want to take note that this is from the Daily Star - There not exactly a reliable source. It's easy to believe everything you read about sombody, if you don't like them.

From that article, and from the direct quotes from Jade, i think she answered fairly. She realises what she did was wrong and that She is to blame (Unlike Jo, who still blames the producers.)

Whather she herself made the comment is neither here nor there. The concept of Jade Goody being put next to Princess Di makes me recoil in disgust.

She Isn't. She was annonced as the Princess Di of Reality TV. She didnt say it - sombody else did.

How can Daily Star get away with clearly editing a quote to loo like Jade said it. There headline read 'Jade: "I'm the new Di" - WTF? Jade never said it!

Well, that's a fair point about the Star - you can't believe most of what's in there. I would have thought this was an easy story to prove or disprove though.

I agree with Baz though - I bet she knew that they were going to introduce her as that.

She says that she never thought of herself as a celebrity - which contradicts many things she has said in the past.

As for her answers - she more than likely said what she was told to say. I don't like Jo, but at least if and when she does apologise, it will probably be a genuine apology, rather than an attempt to save her career.

Typical Jade fan, 'it's not her, it's some one else'. How is it she can do so much wrong without ever actually doing anything wrong. If that makes sense.

Well, I'm old enough to remember that the world and his wife were getting seriously fed up with her before the crash.

Princess Clothes Horse was a common nickname, and I was sick to the back teeth of her endless attempts to one-up charles, if he was due to be on TV - up she'd pop in a childrens hospital, or with aids sufferers, always with a tipped off camera crew in tow and anywhere she could to snatch the headline with some self pitying promo gimmick.

I don't like Diana and think all the fan fare she got after her death was ridiculous. Jade didn't introduce herself as the 'Diana of reality tv' for all those people who bagged her because of it.

Diana loved all the attention the press got her. She slept around and caused the royal family a lot of embarassment. Diana was more than happy to be on the front cover of Vogue but moaned when she was in the papers. You can't have both!

A lot of people will say that. Diana had NO talent as well as Jade. What did she ever achieve other than marrying a prince. People will never compare Jade to Diana because of the difference in backgrounds. Jade came from a poor, unprivileged family while Diana was born into an upper middle class family.

Both Diana and Jade did use others to get fame though if you think about it. Diana married Charles and Jade went into Big Brother.

If there are any similarities whatsoever though, they are on completely different scales and levels which is why I don't think they should be compared.
