My first fairground ride was about the same age, it wasn't the waltzed. But it went round and up and down and you could sit on fake motorbikes or horses or in a 3 or 4 person settee nailed to the wooden floor.My brother took me on and we used the settee, I don't know what happened but I screamed the place down and the ride had to be stopped to let me off. The song playing had the lyrics, "When the red light flickers, hold on to your knickers" well I nearly pissed mine in fear.

In my teens though I was on the motorbikes giving it large in front of all the girls. Hoping the ones there on the first attempt had forgotten all about it by then.
