X Factor contestant Daniel De Bourg has been accused of trying to fool viewers with his "doting dad" image.

The aspiring singer has become favourite to win this year's contest after speaking about his relationship with three-year-old son Theron on the show.

However, Theron's mother Rachel has branded Daniel a liar, claiming that he refused to support his son for nearly three years.

"I'm livid! Daniel wanted me to get rid of our baby when I told him I was pregnant," Rachel told the News of the World. "And for almost three years he did nothing to help me. I had to work my a*** off to bring up Theron without him.

"But now he's trying to portray himself as a caring single dad and paint a halo over himself. He has no right to use my son to boost his TV career."

She continued: "It's only recently that Daniel walked back into our lives and I told him, 'You're a part-time dad.' Now he's told all these lies, it's fuelled my anger even more."

Rachel's brother Ed added: "I'm convinced he is just using Theron to promote his public image. Rachel didn't want the boy to go on the telly but Dan even went behind her back and used him in the filming.

"My sister was livid. After two years of ignoring her child Dan went on TV to proclaim himself the caring dad and rubbed her out of the whole equation."

The X Factor's live shows start on ITV1 next Saturday.

X FACTOR'S doting dad Daniel De Bourg has been branded a scheming LIAR—by the mother of his love child.

Furious Rachel Sharpe spoke out after singer Daniel—who has been tipped to win—proudly showed off their three-year-old son Theron on the hit ITV show.

But in a harrowing exclusive interview with the News of the World she revealed how the wannabe superstar:

DEMANDED she had an ABORTION when she found she was pregnant,

LEFT her penniless to bring up Theron alone on benefits for nearly three years,

EXPLOITED their son on screen to win over viewers, and

DECEIVED the public by repeatedly claiming he had always supported the child.

Breaking her silence, angry 26-year-old Rachel sobbed: "I'm livid!

"Daniel wanted me to get rid of our baby when I told him I was pregnant.

"And for almost three years he did NOTHING to help me.

"I had to work my a*** off to bring up Theron without him.

"But now he's trying to portray himself as a caring single dad and paint a halo over himself.

"He has no right to use my son to boost his TV career."

In his first ever interview 31-year-old dance teacher Daniel this week admitted he "panicked" when he discovered Rachel was pregnant.

But he said he had "no option" but to accept the situation because she was already FIVE MONTHS pregnant when she broke the news.

When Rachel heard his version she raged: "He's LYING when he says there was no choice of me having an abortion. I was NOT five months gone, I was 12 WEEKS—and Daniel was INSISTING I have the baby terminated.


"I have the proof. I have a diary. I have the scan. What he's saying is simply UNTRUE."

Daniel-a frontrunner to win the show and hot favourite with the bookies—went on to claim: "From the day Theron was born and I picked him up from the hospital to the day I dropped him off before I came into the X Factor house I have supported my son."

And he boasted: "Whenever Rachel needs bills paying I pay them.

"It's the natural thing to do. He's my son."

That fired up Rachel even more and she said: "I asked him to help me, but NO, he wouldn't help me at all.

"It's only recently that Daniel walked back into our lives and I told him, ‘You're a part-time dad.'

"Now he's told all these lies, it's fuelled my anger even more." Londoner Daniel—who has recorded with R Kelly and released a flop album before landing his break on the ITV1 show—admitted: "When Rachel first told me she was having a baby I felt numb. She was very upset.

"We were young, we'd split up and we both knew this wasn't planned.

"My initial reaction was that I didn't know if I could handle it.

"It wasn't the ideal way. I always wanted to be a family man and have children. But when she called five months after we split to say she was pregnant I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness!'

"We'd been together seven months and it was an incredibly passionate relationship but not very stable—certainly not one you'd settle down with.

"We weren't living together and it had ended mutually because while we enjoyed incredible highs together we also suffered extreme lows.

"A lot of guys would have run a thousand miles. But we sat down and figured it out." But Rachel's 19-year-old brother Ed told us HE became like a replacement dad to Theron because Daniel was never around to help.

Apprentice mechanic Ed, who shares Rachel's flat in St Albans, Herts, said: "Many people have told me how I'm much more of a father figure to Theron than Dan's ever been.

"My sister split with him after a series of rows, mainly about his career.

"He was so obsessed with becoming a star he didn't care about anything else. Not my sister, not his son.

"Rachel wanted him to get a proper job so he didn't have to keep living off money borrowed from the banks.

"He was in so much debt he even had to sell off his golf clubs and PlayStation.

"I told him I could get him a job as a labourer at £50 a day, which was more than he was earning as a singer. But he thought he was just too good to do a normal job and said, ‘I'm going to get a big record deal. I'm going to be rich. I'm going to be famous.'

"He just wanted to live the dream.

"I'll never forget the day he finally walked out on Rachel after a blazing row. I saw him hit the front door as he stormed out.

"My sister was in tears. They'd been going out with each other for over two years and she really loved him.

"It was just a few weeks later that she discovered she was pregnant by Dan.

"She was really happy about it but when she told him he said, ‘I don't want the kid. I want you to have an abortion.'

"Rachel was really angry and upset. But he didn't care about her or the baby, just his career.

"I haven't forgiven him for that. He was totally heartless.

"I wanted to punch his lights out. No man should walk out on a pregnant woman. He should hang his head in shame.

"I didn't see him again until the day my sister went into labour.

"He picked me up and took me to the hospital.

"He seemed really scared that he was going to become a dad.

"But when he actually got into the room and saw his child for the first time he was really happy and said the baby was beautiful.

"Nevertheless, had he got his way the baby would never have been born.

"And for the first two years he gave my sister nothing to support Theron. I had to take days off work to help look after him. I gave everything I could to help my sister raise my nephew.

"Dan wasn't paying for the nappies or the baby food. Rachel had to rely on benefits to survive. It was really tough.

"We never saw Dan again until he went for his audition on X Factor.

"Now he's turning up and taking Theron away for weekends, making out how he's the best dad ever.

I could have done with a picture, im not upto date on a few of the contestants names and matching them to the faces lol.

However, if this is true then im not sure people should be looking upto/being fans of someone of that nature as he obviously isn't much of a role model. Then again, people have been known to make up worser stories/lies about someone in order to sell it to newspapers etc, so for all I know anyone could be lying.

Plus that is a remotely witty remark related right back to the show itself, which seems a little too appropriate and im not sure the average person would be capable/find reason to place such comments in their interviews/statements.

I don't believe that article at all.
Daniel's myspace shows just how much he loves Theron.
I loved Daniel, he deserved to win last year, but was screwed over by Louis.
