Chris Moyles could be supping pints in the Rovers Return after visiting the Coronation Street set last week. The Radio 1 DJ has taken his breakfast show on the road for a tour of northern England. And after being bowled over by his day with the Street’s cast, he’s reportedly in talks with producers for a guest role as the cousin of Craig Charles’ character, cab driver Lloyd Mullaney.

Strictly Come Dancing hoofer Letitia Dean (aka EastEnders’ Sharon Rickman) has been voted as the person viewers would most like to return to a soap for a shocking Christmas Day twist. The Inside Soap magazine poll also named Albert Square bad boy Sean Slater (played by Rob Kazinsky) as the man they would most like to snog under the mistletoe. Meanwhile, the Queen Vic was voted the best venue to hold a work Christmas party, beating Coronation Street's Rovers Return and Hollyoaks’ favourite watering hole, the Dog In the Pond.

Former Albert Square heartthrob Nigel Harman is returning to East London – as a Georgian gay transvestite. The actor, who played Dennis Rickman, is appearing in Channel 4’s five-part drama City of Vice from 14 January. The show also stars Iain Glen and Ian McDiarmid as East End crime-fighting brothers Henry and John Fielding, who investigated London prostitutes, pimps and villains in the 1750s. But something tells us that Nigel in a frock is set to steal the show.
