Britney gains recruit as Osama 'threat is investigated'

Britney Spears has new ammunition in her custody battle fight after a spokesman for her ex-husband defected to her camp.

Michael Sands was snapped up by the 26-year-old's new lawyer, Jon Eardle, after he publicly quit Kevin Federline's team, reportedly uncomfortable with the rapper's verbal attacks on the Britney.

Meanwhile, Osama 'Sam' Lutfi, is now said to be under police investigation following reports that he was drugging the singer to control her, TMZ.com claims.

The star's former 'manager' was served with a restraining order and told to keep away from Brit after her mother, Lynne, made the drug allegations earlier this month.

Now a spokesman for Lutfi reportedly says he is aware of the investigation by the Major Crimes Division of the LAPD.

In other Britney news, the singer is said to have become exasperated with the restrictions on her life, telling her new lawyer: 'I want my life back. I want to be able to drive my car. I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who is going to be my security guard. I want to see who I want to see at any time and make it happen.'

It seems even Britney's becoming tired of herself...
