Amy Winehouse accused of assault




Police are investigating a report that Amy Winehouse allegedly attacked a man after a night out in north London.

A 38-year-old man told police in Kentish Town the 24-year-old singer assaulted him on Chalk Farm Road, Camden early yesterday (April 23) morning.

Metropolitan police say they are continuing their inquiries, reports Sky News.





It follows another report that Winehouse assaulted two people outside a bar in north London. Various tabloid newspapers reported that the singer headbutted a drinker in the Bartok bar in Camden.

If eventually convicted of assault, Winehouse could face six months in jail, reports Sky News.

Singer Amy Winehouse will be questioned by police in north London over an alleged assault.

The Metropolitan Police are investigating reports that she allegedly attacked a man after a night out in Camden.

A 38-year-old man told police in Kentish Town the 24-year-old star assaulted him on Chalk Farm Road, early Wednesday morning.

A spokesman for the singer said: "Amy will be voluntarily attending a London police station by appointment with the police.

"We understand that she will be questioned in connection with an alleged incident in Camden in the early hours of April 23."

Winehouse's police station visit comes on the day that her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

He is currently in prison on remand over a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice but the singer failed to support her husband and did not attend the hearing.

The Brit Award-winner's problems began to spiral publicly last year.

She was admitted to hospital last August after a reported overdose of heroin,ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol.

Fans were shocked to see the Back to Black singer bloodstained and covered in scratches, wearing blood-soaked ballet shoes, and with bruises to her neck, bandages on her arms and make-up smeared down her face after she quit rehab with Fielder-Civil.
