It you think about it, it works on 2 levels. Jennifer's gang are her followers, a freak can describe someone who is supportive of something, but it can also describe something abnormal in nature. Jennifer and her followers are clearly abnormal in their behaviour seeing as they can't seem to act decent to anybody outside their own group.
