The coldest weather for years has hit the UK as forecast, bringing heavy snowfalls to many areas and temperatures way below zero degrees, temperatures fell to -12c in many places the 6th coldest ever recorded. Rivers were frozen in across South East England and water pipes have burst from the cold.
Milder conditions look to move in the first half of next week, however Kwik Weather Forecasting Services long range forecasters warn that there is more cold weather to come.
Kwik Weather Forecasting Services Rob Howard adds"Temperatures will remain cold throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend, there will be a slight break in the cold snap in the first half of next week but colder conditions will begin to filter down as a Northerly Wind will establish, this second cold snap will bring more significant snow than that last one, however details are are little sketchy at this moment in time"
December was offically recorded as a below average month and January temperatures have so far fallen into the catergory of Signifcantly Below average. This brings concern for some as to the reality of whether global warming actually exsists or not.
