She was very clear, but he is in his own world, where Noirin totally fancies him.

Its a shame as they where cool as friends, but he is getting carried away with a bit of attention.

To be fair, she led him on for weeks just as she did with Sree and then suddenly "I dont fancy you", why not just say "I see you as a friend" or something before they get the wrong idea, which she knew they did.

There must be something seriously wrong when a guy still thinks he's got a chance after hearing " i like you as a friend". So I think she has brought up the ex again to make it clear her heart is elsewhere and not available.
