That kid is a prime advertisement for abortion.

He's awful but the adult shouldn't have thrown him to the ground.

Nope I wouldn't have pushed him, He was assaulting him holding the brat at arms length would have been sufficient. Assaulting him back just shows you have lost control of the situation.

Guy showed far more restraint than I would. This is very difficult situation; if the guy was a trained law enforcement officer then I agree he used too much force but I assume he's not. Different people act differently under pressure and in the face of extreme provocation I have no problems with the way he handled it

He's very lucky, the kids head came pretty close to smacking against that wall (never mind the concrete floor) and it could have been a very different story. And it wasn't even necessary, he could have easily turned around and walked through the door. I'm not sure what lesson this is supposed to teach the kid, that two wrongs make a right, or to meet violence with violence? Not really the kinds of lessons we usually try and teach children. And I'd say those are the kinds of lessons that definitely shouldn't be taught to a child like him. This was more about punishing him in a moment of rage, yes he was provoked but given the potential consequences, the fact he could have walked away, and it being a child, I don't think he was justified at all.

Having given it thought, I don't think it was necessary and it also wouldn't be what I would have done, and also, it wasn't really the right decision as he gave the kid exactly what he was looking for (he definitely wanted that to happen - the part he didn't want to happen was no one taking action against the man) AND yes he could have accidentally done much more damage and gotten himself into a very bad situation, so it wasn't the smart move.

I also wouldn't say it was "justified", exactly, being done out of anger. However I do think it was understandable in a way, the reaction isn't shocking or surprising, especially as it was exactly the reaction that the kid was trying to get. So yeah, I guess that's where I fall on this one. He shouldn't have done it and the right / smart thing to do was to walk away, however I don't particularly "judge him" for doing it.

He's 9? Nope cannot justify an adult doing that to a 9 year old no matter what. A stranger puts his hands on my kid, no matter what he's done is in trouble. Ring the police, restrain (safely) anything but put your hands on him and shove him, no no. Its too easy for a shove like to end a childs life....

No doubt about it, the child needs to know he can't act like that, but for a grown man to do that is unnecessary.

The guy had no real need to hit him or push him, but then the kid could have produced a knife and you can bet a dollar that the next time he does something like this again, he will

The guy lost it. And he took a lot longer to lose it than I would have. If he'd been dicking around with my car I'd have pushed him too, let alone if he'd punched me. Little ****... I'd love to see the parents.
