Probably because a large amount of leave voters voted to leave as they thought it would end immigration. So if she keeps freedom of movement, she is pissing those people off.

How many people in this thread actually voted in the referendum I wonder, it is an unholy mess and the UK is a laughing stock, and before anyone mentions the SNP don't forget she is trying to mess with democracy by holding another 'once in a lifetime ref' and they dropped the voting age to 16 to ensure the right result which they didn't get, so it will probably be dropped to 12 for the next one

Indeed. I can't believe she didn't take the oppurtunity to leave it all after the disastrous GE results.

I actually think (and here comes the conspiracy theorist in me

) that she has been told she cannot step down until after the Brexit mess is done with. So that they can blame her for the mess it makes, and claim it was all her fault and that the next leader is not so stupid, etc. Shes basically the scapegoat. Even though it was ****ing Camerons fault anyway! People seem to forget that, as there is now a woman to blame instead.

I definitely think this is the case, they're gonna need someone to pin Brexit on, and they're gonna choose May. Hopefully the UK doesn't forget.

I cannot stand the woman, but some of the flack she gets is massively unfair. None of this is her fault, shes trying to make the best of a bad situation. And yes, I think powers from above are saying she has to stay and be blamed..which is a really crappy situation.

Yep, and honestly, the Brexit plan she has sounds pretty decent, and I hope she can hold on and have this plan carried through.
