Default Sharon, it\'s time to cut the c**p

Sharon, it's time to cut the crap
Ask yourself this question. Did you want Sharon Osbourne back on The X Factor? Or would you have preferred it had she dived - botoxed face first - into a bucket-load of her own excrement, that same excrement she delights in sending people (lovingly wrapped in a Tiffany box) who cross her?

For that revolting little habit alone she ought to be sectioned or at the very least ostracised by TV bosses who must surely realise the public are sick and tired of her tantrums and no longer want her lunacy invading our front rooms.

Because it's clear the woman who for a while fooled us into believing she was a dynamic combo of Feisty Career Woman, Earth Mother and Big Softie is more than a bit unhinged. Moreover, if you take away the flash jewellery and the designer clothes there's something horribly trashy about her. A fact borne out by her own brother, David Arden, who says that if someone offends Mrs O her response is to send them her own crap in a Tiffany Box.

But what's really disturbing here is watching a woman who had it all unravel in front of our eyes. She's pressed the self-destruct button and she ain't stopping until it's done.

And on present form it won't be long. This year she's publicly trashed her boss Simon Cowell (stupid move considering he's one of the most powerful men in television). Her brother claims she was even prepared to wreck the show for her own ends.

By all accounts, she bullies Dannii Minogue so viciously that she's regularly in tears. Hell, she even threatened to bite her if she dares to come into her "little world".
But her worst crime was last week - publicity stunt or not - when she walked off and left her two terrified acts to face the vote alone. Mrs Earth Mother, the woman who claims to care passionately about ALL her proteges, stormed off after yet another hissy fit and left Kim Southwick and Alisha Bennett to face the vote alone. Both were obviously distressed and all the while Sharon, who point-blank refused to participate, stood by like some haughty diva while the future of these frightened young girls hung in the balance.

On the basis she refused to do the job she's paid megabucks to do and because she let down two vulnerable girls who were 100 per cent her responsibility - she should have been booted out and not allowed back. And if this WAS another publicity stunt, then everyone involved in the show should be castigated for messing with those kids' lives. Because while they sign up to compete with each other they don't sign up to be used as pawns in personal cat fights between the judges.

Itv should never have agreed to take Osbourne back no matter how much she begged or apologised because they don't actually need her any more. And now that we've seen the real Sharon, the one who's consumed by bitterness, bile and jealously - we don't either. There's an ugliness about her now and it's tainting the show.

And while she may look defiant, the truth is she's panicking - and she should be. She's no longer Queen Bee and while in previous series' TV bosses had to capitulate to her every demand because she was the only woman, they no longer have to because they have the beautiful, serene Dannii. And that's what's REALLY bugging her. Dannii Minogue is Sharon's nemesis. She's everything Mrs O isn't. She's a class act and next to her Sharon looks like a jealous street fighter. Had she just kept her cool and acted like the elder stateswoman she'd have been safe. But now she isn't.

And what's the betting when she's sacked at the end of this series - and with Dannii in place we'll barely notice she's gone - she'll say she was always going to quit because she's had enough.

Well, I don't know about her. But we sure as hell have!
