Hotel is a good example of a terribly written series that is still entertaining, it was all style and no substance but it was still watchable. Cult failed on both a writing and on an entertainment level. It was just boring.

Freakshow was also boring and, until Cult, it was the worst season but I'd take boring over the nonsensical waste of time that Cult was.

Yeah I agree with what your saying, don't get me wrong Cult is probably my second least favorite . I just thought Freak Show was awful and is the only season I had to force myself to finish whereas I personally could probably rewatch Cult as I did enjoy it

4-6 is really close, It can change between Coven/Cult/Hotel for me but I think I'd place Coven higher maybe because of Jessica Lange.

As much as I love Jessica Lange as an actress she played near enough the same character each series, a bitter woman jealous of a younger more attractive woman etc etc

If Ryan wasn’t so bothered about her being the main star I feel like coven/FS could have been a lot stronger

Coven's the best of the **** seasons but it's still poor. It feels like they were making that season up as they went along. I can just see the storyboards being blank with the words 'It doesn't matter what happens, as long as it's sassy' written on all of them.

I swear every AHS from Coven onwards starts off really strong and then just loses the plot half way through.. except for Roanoke which imo started off dull and got better, and Hotel which was just dull throughout

Hmm, that's true actually. Even Freakshow started off well until like the fifth episode but I also think that Cult is an exception to the rule, it was **** from the start and it only showed promise in the middle of the season before the retconned everything.
