Default Lidl plans to build more than 3,000 homes to cement planning permission for stores

Well Done German Lidl.

[Discount retailer Lidl is putting in a school above a new store in Richmond and
says it could build 3,000 homes "in London alone".
Local authorities are looking for increasingly creative ways to address
the housing shortage and commercial developers, willing to make
concessions to affordable housing, have begun to catch their attention.]

Having flats above supermarkets actually seems like a rally good idea if you think about it. Not great for families maybe but if your were single or a young couple, it would be so ****ing handy...

...but what about though, TS...if it was so handy that the couple just felt as though they were popping downstairs to get something out of the fridge or freezer or cupboard etc...that they forgot to pay for it and then got arrested for shop lifting stuff...hmmmm, that wouldn’t be such a great and handy thing...

Yes absolutely, anyone building new 'affordable' housing would be welcome in any city , let them get building.
