I wonder if it was a turning left blindspot death?
Bikes go up the inside and the lorry cant see them and crushes them when turning left |

Bicycle deaths here are an issue too. We have a pretty big community of recreational bikers. That is the nice thing about having bayous all over is that they've started plotting trails and bicycle paths along all of them across the city... someone started a memorial project after so many deaths went unnoticed... so across the city, there are old bikes painted white and chained where the person had been hit.. my uncle has ran a bike shop for years, so he and family do a lot in that community...
