Charley Uchea has had to be rescued by emergency services from a beauty treatment of her own devising.

The ex-Big Brother star took the current craze for sugar skin treatments a step too far and became trapped in a bath of solidifying molasses.

Her new boyfriend, former BB winner Brian Belo, said he heard her "ranting and raving" in the bathroom of her apartment and was forced to break down the door. He found Charley naked and up to her neck in the warm, liquified cane sugar.

Belo, now a Hollyoaks casting director, told DS: "She's a right doughnut, you could've heard her screaming in Chester. That stuff was proper solid, you could smell it all over the 'ouse. What a yoghurt top! Oh my days."

An ambulance crew was unable to extricate the 32-year-old, who reportedly became abusive as they attempted to help. A paramedic told DS: "I've had some weird calls, but this has to be the weirdest. Stroppy isn't the word."

Streatham fire brigade were eventually forced to disconnect the bath and crane it out of the eighth-storey bathroom window as a crowd of witnesses looked on. Onlookers reported seeing a "hysterical" Charley swinging around in her tub, yelling: "I'm not being funny, but this is a ********** joke and I'm being ********** honest with you, yeah? I don't know what you're all staring at me for, this ain't the ********** Charley show."

The bath was successfully sawn in half in the street, after which Uchea was described by fireman Ted Ullage as looking "rather sweet". The treacle was then chipped away for more than two hours until she could be released and taken to hospital.

Charley last hit the headlines in 2009 when she was ordered to take anger-management classes after losing a catfight with Charlotte Church on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me A Beer. She was later escorted off the pub-set reality show, now in its eighth series.

The bath full of treacle will be reconstructed as an installation in the celebrity wing of Tate Modern.

Playboy bunny Chanelle Hayes was asked for a comment and replied: "Charley who?"
