Jungle Brian won't stay another day
12.31PM, Fri Nov 26 2004
ITV

Singer Brian Harvey has packed his bags and walked out off the set of I'm A Celebrity after a row with Janet Street-Porter.

Tempers flared when the former East 17 apparently broke wind near the veteran journalist and television executive.

Brian has been struggling with his emotions following the death of his grandmother.

News of her death was broken to him on his arrival in Australia and he entered the jungle a day late.

On Wednesday the 30-year-old faced the grim House of Pies challenge in which he had to eat insect-infested pies covered by a swarm of flies.

And viewers had seen Harvey become increasingly upset by the number of flies which had found their way into his camp bed.

Yes she has

Brian defends Natalie

Brian Harvey has defended fellow quitter Natalie Appleton over her decision to leave I'm A Celebrity.

The former East 17 singer also accused the programme's producers of misrepresenting her on screen.

"I kind of had a feeling that she was going to go," he told GMTV this morning reports Digitalspy.

"Everything that you see of her in the jungle... I don't think the edit did her much justice, to be honest.

"There's nothing fake about her at all. She really was scared and she has got real a paranoia about heights.

"She has had it quite bad in there. The girl that I've seen in the jungle... she's a really nice girl and I would ask everyone not to come down too hard on her."

Natalie leaves the jungle

Natalie Appleton has quit I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

She walked out of the show after being selected by the public to face her fifth Bushtucker Trial.

Natalie was due to be buried up to her neck in a muddy swamp, then have rats and snakes dumped on her head.

As hosts Ant and Dec revealed she had been voted to face another ordeal, Nat said: "Shall I get my coat? I might as well have come here on my own. Thank you England."

After contemplating another trial Natalie decided she could not face another day in the jungle and left.

Producers tried to convince the pop star to stay but she walked out of the show saying she was tired, hungry and missing her family.

Thank God for that - the woman was driving me mad. Why on earth did she agree to go into the jungle in the first place. Her whinging was beyond belief - I bet even Ant and Dec are glad to see the back of her, perhaps the others will get some food now!!

I agree she is really bossy but she looks like a strong favourite to win.

1. Joe
2. Fran
3. Paul
4. Janet

Thats how i want it to finish.

Just a random thought ......

Isn't it strange how we're not really getting into IACGMOOH this year?

The last few years it's been on we've been quite excited by it ....... but this year (IMHO) has been a bit of a damp squib.

Hope Joe wins, but I haven't been tempted in the least to vote for anyone (bit like the X-Factor!).

Big disappointment this time for me.

I'm so glad Joe won and I do hope it gives his career a kick start - he really is a very funny guy.

As for Paul I did admire him with that food - ugh - no way could I have eaten any of that.

A BID to ban bushtucker trials from reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, has been launched by MPs.

They signed a Commons motion accusing the ITV1 show's producers of "animal abuse".

Led by former Sports minister Tony Banks, the MPs claim the trials are cruel. Some involve eating live bugs and manhandling animals.

Another sees a star buried in a coffin of rats.

Mr Banks said if ITV continues with the "inane" show, the trials should not include "tormenting, abusing or killing animals, reptiles and insects".

MPs suggest trials without animals, such as a quiz.

In the motion, which is unlikely to result in any legal changes, Mr Banks claims the "Z-list celebrities" agree to go along with anything if it will help revive their career.

Comic Joe Pasquale won last month's show, in which former royal butler Paul Burrell was made to eat kangaroo testicles.
