Gay Biggins, 59 – now a bona fide contestant after dropping into the show as a surprise – giggled: “The first thing I ever do when I come home is take my trousers off.

“I loathe trousers. I think there’s no point. I often answer the front door to postmen and people delivering things and there’s a sort of look in their eye as they’re confronted by this large man in a pink pair of boxer shorts.

“I’ll probably do that in the jungle. I have absolutely no problem with my body.

“If that’s the way I feel that particular day, I’ll do that. And I couldn’t sleep in clothes. I’ll have to take them off and have them airing somewhere. I couldn’t bear to wear all my stuff.”

The outrageous star was thoroughly miffed that he could take only three pairs of undies into the jungle.

Since he insists on a clean pair every day, he will be busy washing all the time. He is not so fussy about other things though.

He admitted: “I hate myself for it but I pick my nose in the car. I fart quite a lot, too, and they’re not very pleasant especially if I’m eating rice.”

He also admits he has got a “terrible laugh”. But woe betide anyone who might complain. He warned: “When my temper goes, please don’t be in the same room! It goes really, really badly!”

Chris’s hatred of ciggies will upset puffers including Anna Ryder Richardson, 43, and Marc Bannerman, 34.

He said: “I think we should agree that people go to a certain area of our compound to smoke.

“They should not smoke around the food we’re preparing and I don’t think they should smoke around where our beds are.

“I’m a very light sleeper, so if there are people who snore, I’d also hate that.

“And I don’t like folk peeing by their bed either.”
