I have never watched that much of FN, but I always thought he fit in better with local rather than cable. I mean that as a compliment. There aren't as many overblown characters as they really do just report the news. People who are dedicated and love the area in which they cover. A lot of times if I question the accuracy of something, I go find the local source and there's sometimes a lot of context that is either missed/not picked up by national sources.
It would've been very interesting to see Tim Russert cover current events had he still been with us.
