https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebr...8_(UK)#Summary

The difference in reactions with Biggins to Lewis is that Biggins was only in the house for 9 days rather than 7 weeks, wasn't removed with only a week to go, and wasn't the favourite to win. And it is Celebrity rather than normal Big Brother.

Also Biggins' comments were apparently aired, but I don't remember because I couldn't have watched that series all that much, or been that interested in it.

I remember listening to him talking about bisexuals and I was taken aback at the time...but cant remember exactly what he said...

..and you are right about the difference between the two.

Lewis was ejected on the Friday, the shooting happened on the saturday

Almost identical to my opinion of this ejection!

That makes more sense now.
I don't think he's antisemitic (don't think someone thinks that), but it was a comment in bad taste and the ejection is valid. C5 did right for facing what happened, not sweeping under the carpet just because he's a favourite.
Sad that this is how it ended for him, but you got to face the music sometimes (and he had numerous lucky escapes).

Whether he is anti-Semitic or not, I agree his statements were tasteless and insensitive at the very least, and do reflect very badly on his character.

I agree also that Channel 5 did the right thing. Those behind the scenes- camera men, producers, etc- had to hear them, even if viewers didn't.

Far too many excuses have been made for Lewis this series on far too many occasions, and it is time he realised he cannot continue to behave as he chooses to do, with no consideration for others, without consequences occurring. It is time he took responsibility for his actions and accepted those consequences.

It is an irony that everything Lewis professes to dislike in others are character traits he possesses himself.

Oh to be perfect eh! It is a fact of life that sometimes the fears we have of others, are our own fears. This is why we have to own up to not being perfect and this is what he has done. The behind the scenes people stood up for him. After all "didnt they do well"....they were quids in with all the people who voted for him and made him top of the bookies.

Mine to, once he gets over it all hopefully he will return to normal and enjoy the company of all those who admired him for his honesty.

it will be nice following him on facebook & insstagram. he seems to put quite a bit of live stuff on both. not sure if hes on twitter too. the house just isnt the same without him, entertainment level has gone way down & he didnt have to try, whereas the remaining HMs are all trying so hard, its rmbarrassing

So he was ejected for mocking Hitler, not supporting him?

Mocking is the opposite of support, no?

Can people not tell the difference these days?

It seems people can't sadly see the difference.

It should be worrying really.

Mocking or supporting does it really matter? Hitler is a derisory figure and using his actions as a joke, particularly in the recent political climate is a poor show in all honesty. Were he mocking ian brady, fred west or any other person who committed atrocities is just not funny

Doesn't suprise me. Most SJW types that project virtue too hard are usually pretty nasty underneath. The guy was clearly a sociopath just trying to project the persona of a decent human.

It makes sense. It's easy to imagine him mispronouncing 'outfits' and it sounding like 'Auschwitz'; then him doing a 'kill the Jews' Hitler impression as a response to his slip of the tongue.

Such humour is subjective, one person could be hugely offended while another may not be bothered at all. Personally I dont think that it warranted an instant removal as its a joke at himself, not an antisemitic comment, but I can understand that others could see it differently.
