Just to clarify as there seems to be misunderstanding

Referendums are not legally binding, they are advisory only

They could literally extend leaving for 5 years+ and spend that time setting up a sensible, staged withdrawal and not be breaking that promise. The vote said absolutely nothing about timeframe and there's very little argument that this hasn't been stupidly and recklessly rushed.
