Brian has been given a role in a new TV series 'Footballers Wives TV', a spin-off from the main show.

The 8 part series is a spoof magazine show and Brian will play the part of the TV presenter, basically himself!

The eight part series begins on ITV2 on 31st MARCH 2005 at 10:30pm - 11:00pm

In the first episode:

'Picking Your Player

Spoof satellite channel that's on a mission to bring an essential serving of glitz and glam into people's lives. Today, a wannabe footballer's wife competition winner has a makeover in the studio, then joins a pulling master class with her mother and best friend to prepare for snagging and bagging her perfect player. Plus the day's footballer's wife-friendly news, and the weather-related choice of shoes.'

The show is repeated on
SUNDAY 03 APRIL at 12:25am and again later that day at 9.20pm

Brian is a huge fan of Footballers Wives, so is really excited to be part of the series.

Aww you've missed out!

His main attraction in my view is his ability to be funny when bouncing verbally off someone he knows. Hence his very successful stint on Vernon Kaye's R1 show on Saturdays.

He is also in my opinion very good when working from a script, especially when he is allowed to add his own bits and pieces and put his own slant on it and most especially when he is live. Such as Famous and Frightened Extra.

This new show promises to be a laugh.

However, I know everybody has different taste, I'm not trying to provoke an arguement just trying to shed some light on why he appeals to me. I just find him very funny.

This sounds like a fun show - although I'm not a big fan of Footballers Wives myself, I shall be tuning in to see Brian!

BIG Brother 2 winner turned TV presenter Brian Dowling (below) is making his acting debut in a Footballers' Wives spin-off.

Shouldn't be too much of a stretch though - he plays a telly host in Footballers' Wives TV, a spoof magazine show out on ITV2 when the main series returns later this year.



Bri, 26, will spill the beans about the show's soccer stars. The former SM:TV frontman said: "I'm so excited. Footballers' Wives is my absolute favourite show, I'm a massive fan."

An ITV2 insider said: "Brian's perfect in the part because he doesn't take himself too seriously - a bit like the show. This is really going to spice things up, giving fans even more juicy gossip about all the naughty goings-on."

i watched him on im famous...... on living tv and hes quite a capable presenter, to be honest
