Hi guys, I understand the UK version of The Apprentice is starting for you guys next week, and Alan Sugar is involved. A discussion has just started on a TV forum I belong to here in Australia (see my www).
![]() Is there any goss you can tell us ? We loved both the US versions and Bransons Billionaire, so hopefully we will be getting this UK version soon. ![]() So any snippets would be greatly appreciated. |

I think its great. Its obviously never going to surpass the US but it does a good job in trying.
Its the same format with many of te same challenges each week like the US one. Only this time the girls ae the unsucessful bunch! They have lost 4 of 6 already. |

Ive been watching it from the start and think its very good, much better than I expected. Having also watched the US version I admit to having doubts whether the UK one would match it for entertainment. Going in with low expectations has paid off because Im thoroughly enjoying it so far. Alan Sugar is just, if not more, ruthless and unforgiving than his US counterpart (as I expected he would be) and hes come out with some great one-liners.
The main reason this series has worked so well is because there has been a great selection of candidates taking part. Most of whom are your typical self-opinionated egomaniacs and therefore clash of ideas and personalities have been in plentiful supply. Saira, for example, is an absolute bitch and has proved that in the last two shows by not pulling her weight, putting on a strop the moment she doesnt get her own way and blaming everybody else for any problems that arise. I had to laugh when she was faced with the prospect of being fired, going on about her professionalism during one failed task after producing one of the worst advert designs I have ever seen. It was so bad I just found it laughable. The other main protaganist is Paul. Hes a mouthy, patronizing gobshite of an ex-car salesman who thinks he knows it all (and doesnt). Having him and Saira working together has, for me, produced some of the greatest moments of the show. I admire Alan Sugar's evil sense of humour keeping them in the series a little longer. But they wont win by a long stretch. My favourite is Miriam. Shes intelligent, remains calm under pressure, works hard, listens to what other people tell her, a team player and doesnt come across as some pretentious bighead. That doesnt make her the most entertaining I know, but if I was Alan Sugar picking an employee out of this lot she'd be top of my list. |

I watched it for the first time last week and thought it was really good. I'll have to catch-up on the previous episodes.
