It wasn't about the colour of people helping, he was talking about the images shown on TV with little passive black orphans. The idea that Africans as swinging on trees until the white man got there has been prevalent for a while, which is where the "white saviours" stuff comes from. Don't have to go too far back in time to see any films showing Africans would show cannibal tribes with bones through their noses, when the actual history of Africa is completely different. They had bustling civilisations with embassies in Italy 500 years ago, ancient Egyptians were black Africans too.

Maybe a comic relief documentary about Europe's role in the modern plight of the continent might help people to see his point of view rather than "white people should stop giving money because one black person said something I don't like"

But if you want a load of white folk to donate loads of money then you have to have those white folk in the documentaries...it's only black folk that are picking up on something that's just not there..



I do get his view on it and I would find that horrendous if that's what it was, but it just isn't. .who else can they send?
