What albums do you consider overrated and underrated?
Underrated - Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible - I don't know anyone ho knows this but it's so beautiful and dark Marina and the Diamonds - Electra Heart - It has a low meta score but it's pop perfection, probably my favourite album from a pop girl this decade Lady Gaga - ARTPOP - it's a mess but a fun mess with bops, easily the Gaga album I revisit the most. A Day To Remember - Homesick - Again I don't know many people who know this, but it's pop punk/metalcore at it's best and in my top ten albums of all time. Paramore - Paramore - Not really underrated as it's acclaimed but it's so stunning and everyone needs to know Overrated - Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence - I love Born To Die but this fell a bit flat for me, on other forums its revered as the greatest album of the decade by some. Rihanna - Unapolagetic - one of her worst, bland and generic. Last edited by Daniel.; 25-03-2019 at 09:03 PM. |

Underrated - Trench by twenty one pilots - honestly a masterpiece, overlooked because of who the band are
Overrated - When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go by Billie Eilish - it's been out a day and I'm already sick of literally everyone talking about it, couldn't really get into that much, didn't like the songs or style Last edited by Morgan.; 30-03-2019 at 05:18 PM. |

Underrated -
Any Steely Dan album Any Outkast album Overrated - Kid A - Radiohead I dont get it, I just dont get it. This album is listed in a bunch of 'best of all time' polls, I've listened to it a few dozen times but very rarely get all the way thru without wanting to turn it off. Its boring. ![]()

Over:
- Solange - A Seat at the Table - just a 7 or 8/10, really not best-of-the-year material like some people thought ![]() - Cardi B - Invasion of Privacy - barely even a 6/10. - Patti Smith - Horses - in Rolling Stone's top 50 of all time. I struggled to enjoy it. - The Eagles - Hotel California - also in their top 50, just...not brilliant ![]() - Green Day - American Idiot - so overhyped and built up to be this political clusterbomb when in reality it was a bunch of high-schooler poetry and lazy satire. Under: - Beyonce - 4 - people just talk of her self-titled and Lemonade being her "coming of age" albums but this was as good, I feel. - Kate Bush - 50 Words for Snow - just looked at as a "charming little comeback" or whatever when it was actually a crazily introspective and warm album and one of her best, imo - The Killers - Sam's Town - whenever people get nostalgic about them they jump straight to 'Hot Fuss' and ignore anything else. Hot Fuss was 5 great songs in a row and then a lot of fuzz. Sam's Town was far more evenly-spread, and IMO, better. - Radiohead - The Bends - not underrated per se, but following on from GiRTh's point: Kid A and OK Computer are looked upon as their masterpieces and I think I prefer this to both. - Kelis - Flesh Tone - I honestly think she harnessed EDM and house music in a way that lots of popstars have tried to emulate since and failed. Brilliant 21st century album.

If we'd had this poll a year ago I'd have also listed Is this it by The Strokes. Massively over hyped when it came out and an album I refused to even give a serious listen until about a year ago. Great album, still way over hyped when released though and imo not a top ten of the 2000's
