Talking dry pasta here, there's a noticeable difference with fresh but with dry stuff I'm so confused
Like... if you go to tesco, you can get a pack of spaghetti for like 40p and then a "premium" one the exact same size for like £2 but I'll be damned if they're not exactly the same. I mean I know a lot of products it's like "yeah it's practically the same just as good" but you can still tell the difference. But pasta is just pasta right?? These are the things that really bug me in the shower . |

Nah I don't think so, it's like milk and eggs etc (unless you're being expensive eggs cos they're free range)

I got this industrial size bag of pasta at Tesco last week for 2.80, its just the same, maybe the quality of the flour is different but I can't tell, I sent a bag back to Uni with my son as well in case of no deal so he can get in early in the black market pasta sales, a cup for a tenner sounds fair

I buy the cheapest one all the time in Lidl. It's good and I save money

Mid range is fine, but I tend to buy the more expensive one when it’s on offer.

Yes, absolutely.
The white Walmart brand stuff was feed to me at someone's house recently and I had to force myself to wat it out of politeness. Weird texture, no flavour, like a powder was used instead of a flour to form it. I've also bought bad whole wheat before where I could cook it for 30 mins and it still barely gets to al dente... and just forms a chewy glob.

All tastes the same and mostly made the exact same way by the same companies then packaged up for the different brands
