Well, it's essentially GTA5 in terms of gameplay (and writing, humour, etc.) except you ride horses instead of driving cars.

I did get mostly proficient eventually though. I still SOMETIMES crash full speed into a wagon and go sailing through the air, but it's quite rare.

If you aren't sure I would wait or get it a bit cheaper to be honest.

It's my favourite game of 2018 and favourite game since Until Dawn but it did take a bit of getting used to the whole riding around on a horse for an hour to do one task can be a bit monotonous. Online isn't great yet either, mostly filled with greifers and not many fun mini challenges just yet but it is still beta tbf

The only times I've found it really grating are when you travel half way across the map to a side mission marker, and it turns out to just be a 30 second cutscene so you just have to hop back in the saddle and go all the way back again.

OH... or when you travel for ages to get to a mission marker and then you accidentally do a minor crime and it locks the mission

. Like when I decided to get right up to the north of the map for part of the Marko Dragic mission "quicker" by stealing a train because it's right next to the railway line. I didn't think that one through

. No mission, no horse, and stuck in the middle of nowhere with a $75 bounty.

So I've reached the epilogue, finally got to when it opens up and you get all the stuff back etc, ride on off the ranch, fell down a hill, horse died, no horse reviver, had to steal a steal a new horse and its slow af.

Nothing has changed

... So I thought hey I'll jump to a train to get to a fence because I have loads of loot, but a guard got mad so I shot him, then the law came and I shot them, and now I have $27 and a $200 bounty. Ffs John...

Got to the epilogue and just thought maybe I could go back to beaver hollow and see if stuff was still there or if I could loot Arthur’s body

Half way there I get attacked and killed by some Spanish pricks I’ve never seen before and then I get there and some other gang is living in the bloody caves

Not here for this soft reboot, lost me horses, $4k and all me guns

It's like 5 years later, poor old Arthur would be mouldy af. Or a skeleton. I dunno.
