Starting from January 2008 to coincide with Echo Beach and Moving Wallpaper on ITV1, ITV.com, the online entertainment destination from ITV, will be offering viewers exciting and exclusive clips from an undercover renegade insider stalking the cast crew on the new ITV1 shows.
Viewers can watch the weekly instalments at ITV.com and see The Mole deviously capture the celebrities in undesirable situations in an attempt to blackmail the production. The exclusive clips perfectly support the action on air giving viewers even more content from the show to watch and enjoy online. The Mole is a series of twelve ‘fly-on-the-wall’ style stand-alone shorts featuring the stars of its sister shows including: Jason Donovan, Hugo Speer, Martine McCutcheon and Susie Amy. Each clip is secretly shot behind the scenes using a handheld camera by the insider who is out to cause trouble. Every week a new instalment of the anonymous tapes will be posted at www.itv.com after the main shows end on ITV1. In a truly bizarre and hilarious set of videos, The Mole has managed to catch the stars and producers completely unaware in a series of compromising positions that will have viewers glued to their screens. Each episode reveals exactly what happens when the actors think that the cameras have stopped rolling. As well as capturing all the diva demands and drunken behaviour, the mole’s aim is to find the juiciest gossip and the big scoop that will really set tongues wagging. The results are sensational, gripping and truly eye opening online viewing. But with The Mole having all the keys and knowing all the passwords at Echo Beach Productions, will anyone ever find out who The Mole really is? The exciting sub-plot will build online each week and by watching the main shows eagle eyed viewers can try to figure out who the culprit is. Do you notice anyone acting suspiciously? The Mole marks the first alignment of on air and online with each of the 12 unique films, premiering on ITV.com immediately after ITV1’s new interlinking shows Echo Beach and Moving Wallpaper. Both 12 part series will run together on ITV1 in a primetime slot in January 2008. Alongside the un-named Mole, the site will also feature video clips of the cast introducing themselves as their character plus behind-the-scene footage of the crew working on the set of Echo Beach. Highlight clips from the series, revealing interviews with cast members including Hugo Speer and Jason Donovan, and behind the scenes exclusives will all be available to view at itv.com. If you miss an episode of Echo Beach or Moving Wallpaper you can catch up with the full length version of the show or edited highlights. Annelies Van Den Belt, Managing Director, ITV.com, “We are delighted to be working with Kudos to offer on ITV.com this exciting new strand of content that builds on the drama in the show. ITV.com is dedicated to enriching and extending the viewing experience for programmes across all the ITV channels through exclusive content, highlights, talent interviews and Catch Up.” Executive Producer and Kudos’ joint Managing Director Jane Featherstone: “The Mole strand is a cheeky way to have a bit more fun with these shows and to keep surprising the viewers. It means we are able to access sides of the characters and parts of the world we would not otherwise see in the broadcast shows.” Kudos’ Digital Content Producer, Linda Paalanne, agrees: "It’s been great to have both the creative team and the channel's support for producing a multi-layered experience that provides viewers with original narrative content on the web as well." |
