"Otherwise, if you drink moderately and have plenty of water, then coke does more damage to you."

In the long run alcohol does more damage than coke, yer coke is bad for you but you can drink as much as you want of it (within reason) and not get drunk you might be burping a lot tho

But if you drink a pint of water for every pint of alcohol (which I do) then it dilutes all the toxins into hardly anything and does no damage to your liver. If you don't do that then it does have consequences later in life, but not always. One of my nana's friends was a heavy drinker and when she died, she gave her liver away. There was nothing wrong with it and it was damaged in no way.

Legend i know what you mean about not being bothered at the time but then waking up the next day realising how much of a dangerous situation you put yourself in.I was single for about 3 months earlier this year and all i did was party, every single weekend but the mates i used to go out with lived in a differenct area to me so i had to get a taxi home on my own and you know yourself what its like getting a taxi on a friday or saturday night at kicking out time.
I would just find myself talking to random strangers and once i even fell asleep in a taxi,i mean thats just asking for trouble isnt it.Im not proud of it and it still scares me what could have happened but before you go out for the night, before you actually start drinking you never think about that kinda stuff.Luckily now I have my boyfriend with me at all times when i go out and he makes sure i get home safe.

I know what you mean about the taxi's, I got in one by myself on Sat and I honestly can't remember the journey and I've no idea if I fell asleep or what. Scary thinking back but at the time I didn't have a care in the world and was more interested in where my next shot was.

It's made me a lot more cautious though and I'm not going to put myself in that position again because as you said, getting in that state is just asking for trouble especially if you're going home by yourself or if you're mates are just as bad.

Requiring alcohol to have a good time is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard, Tom

Sure, it helps. But you don't need it. Tbh if you can only act crazy and fun when drunk then you need a life

I think it's mainly because alcohol helps you relax so if you're out in town on water then you're not going to be as relaxed and you won't mingle as much as you would if you were drinking which would obviously make the night not as good.

My cousin though goes out every weekend and never drinks, he has a great time so I suppose alcohol isn't the be all and end all of a good night out.
