Default British steel

Good news at last.
British steel has found a buyer.
A Turkish pension fund has bought it in its entirety.
Many people will sleep happy tonight.

It hasn’t been British for years.
Tata are one in a long line of owners over the decades.

I think it's disgusting we didn't renationalise it, I'm happy jobs are safe for now but as you say there's been a long line of buyers over the years.

PM Sunak says it is commercially sensitive
so you have to wait for Tata to speak shortly.

He also claims the Government is investing Half a Billion
into Steel.

Tata of India
have announced
2,800 jobs will now be lost
at Port Talbot.

2,500 jobs will go first.

This means the UK will no longer be able
to make Virgin-Type Steel.

The Two Mega Blast Furnaces
will close this year.

PM Sunak has spoken
he says there are 8,000 jobs
and he has set up a deal to keep
it open,
but not the same.
