A lot of the purported benefits of Brexit were pretty much debunked during the campaign to the point that one of Gove's famous quotes was that they had enough of 'experts' that were telling them what they didn't want to hear. Despite all that, despite all the evidence telling them that the Leave side was full of ****, people still voted for them. I think most people that voted leave were at least easily led or uninformed.
Everything that has 'come to light' now was known back then. We knew the bus was bull****, every economic expert worth their salt all over the world warned against the dangers and Leave's lies were obvious back then (Leaving without a deal is project fear! Never gonna happen if you vote leave!). People just chose not to pay attention. ****ing boo hoo to anyone who voted leave and now has egg on their face. |

I'm just going to come out on the side that yes you fell for a dupe...a big fat pre planned tory dupe.
Brexit had been in the pipeline for at least a decade before the referendum imo. I'm not trawling for evidence but it's there should anyone care to look. For me brexit isn't even the issue any longer, we've been out of Europe and been ok. It's the distinct lurch right that a Tory brexit hails that concerns me. We are not only moving away from Europe economically but also ideologically.
