1. The woman at the top is Katherine Mayfair, a new character in Season 4, as portrayed by Dana Delany. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katherine_Mayfair

thats what i thought when i seen the promo pics before the season starts.after the first 2 episodes she becomes one of the main characters

Would you consider Edie an official Desperate Housewife because in season 1 she was kind of ignored but in 2 and especially 3 she suddenly became this huge character....

Well as far as most innocent watchers are concerned - she's got the biggest cliffhanger between Seasons 3 and 4, so I'd say she's a main character now. She definitely got more coverage when Bree was on maternity leave.

I like her - she's ace
