Ten people have been injured after a car drove into a carnival parade in Germany.
Police say the driver has been detained following the incident in Volkmarsen, which is in Hesse state. Officials have declined to say whether it was an accident or a deliberate attack. According to local reports, children are among those who have been injured. Today is Rosenmontag in Germany - Rose Monday in English - a popular day for carnival celebrations across the country. A large number of officers are at the scene about 175 miles southwest of Berlin, and the public are being urged not to spread unconfirmed reports about the incident. It comes less than a week after a gunman shot 10 people dead in the German town of Hanau , in what is one of the worst racist attacks in the country since World War Two. Investigators in that incident have said that the 43-year-old suspect, who was found dead in his flat soon after the shooting, had a xenophobic motive. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/germany-se...144000279.html Last edited by Ammi; 24-02-2020 at 02:01 PM. |
