Lol funny how Michele couldn't wait to work with Wendell before he made it obvious that he had no interest in her existence anymore

This is a fun season (and definitely worth the wait after spending 8 weeks watching every one I hadn't yet seen)...but this boot order is...not great. It's the old schoolers I was mostly looking forward to
Casting largely okay but had no interest in ever seeing Ben or Sophie again. Would've preferred Mike, Todd, Fabio (underrated!) and maybe even Earl to be on? Oh and Hatch, but I can understand why he's not here. Don't know the life history of the others... |

I definitely have issues with the cast but they're not Ben and Sophie Love him or hate him Ben is definitely one of the more complex winners in recent memory and the main issues people had with him were his obnoxious coronation edit, the show planting Idols for him to find, and the show creating the F4 fire twist to help him win. Those are things production did, not Ben and I think Ben also naturally creates interesting relationships with the people around him and bounces well off of other people. He's been totally fine this season because we don't have an obnoxious winner's edit sanitizing his bull****. Sophie is also one of the most unique winners we've had and I'm just in awe that not only are we seeing her again, but she's arguably getting the best edit?! She's a compelling narrator and quick-witted with incisive commentary. *my* main issues with the cast is the fact that it's so saturated by new school players. We have the winners for seasons 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37 It's just a little bit redundant to say the least, especially when they only cast six pre-HvV winners by comparison.

At the very least she brings enough to make you feel some type of way where you’re trashing her every chance you get
(and that’s not even going into the fact that you haven’t even seen Pearl Islands or Heroes vs. Villains)

Anyway, weird episode but I take it. Gutted to see Yul going, but I guess the producers needed more of Michele vs Windell during the merge. |

You’ve been talking about her a lot more than anyone else here has. But in case you need reminding, this season is called Winners at War so if the only people who are cast are winners, it’s absolutely relevant to bring up their previous season. Or seasons, since Sandra’s won twice and nobody else has ever. Hence her reputation as the best player ever and the queen of Survivor, a title which she has objectively earned no matter how much you want to dislike her mainly for the sake of going against the grain.

"Best player ever" Debatable, if you look at this season (socially and physically). I've not doubted/commented at all on her previous seasons since I haven't seen them though. Oh and I dislike her because she's delusional, arrogant and embarrassing |

Sandra is actually really well-liked by many former Survivor players, past and present. Even so, she's gained life-long friendships as a result. I doubt many of them would say she's delusional, arrogant or embarrassing.
She also has a super-friendly warmth on social media and treats her fans well, imo. |

And as for her quit, I don't see what the big issue is because she's absolutely correct? Her biggest strengths in the game are her relationship-building skills, social game, and getting people to trust her by presenting herself as truthful and blunt, none of which would help her on the Edge of Extinction. She's already accomplished enough in the game to the point where she doesn't feel the need to torture herself for 23 more days just to get a spot on the Jury. And that doesn't even get into the whole twist of Edge of Extinction. People hate it and have been critical of it ever since it was introduced, and for good reason! It dilutes the actual game of Survivor and goes entirely against the premise of the show. To have someone show up and immediately say "screw this, I'm out" is rather refreshing It's on record that most of the cast haaaaated the Edge of Extinction twist when it was announced on Day 1 too. I think it was only Sarah and Nick who felt positively about it?

EoE and the fire tokens take too much screen time. They didn't even need all those twists to make the season interesting. They are all seasoned players so it's pointless.

Sandra is hilariously blunt and bluntly hilarious. Her demeanor is top notch for a Survivor character, I find her amusing in like every single scene she's in

Right? Like I don't even like Challenges that much, especially in this current era where they just cycle through the same ones every season, but I would've much rather seen the Reward Challenge and get to see the other tribes react to the Sandra/Parvati boots than watch Rob mansplain a scavenger hunt to us.

After rewatching this episode earlier, I kinda enjoyed this episode actually. Especially the EOE scenes (for once) and Rob's confessional from finding 3 tokens at EOE
Ben was funny as well
