Okay so I thought a significant portion of this episode was garbage because it was like a big checklist for things I can't stand about modern Survivor: this whole idea that you shouldn't be upset when you're left out of a vote, a literal montage of people just aimlessly saying each other's names to the point, a live Tribal Council, and just the general modern Survivor tendency to sacrifice any tangible storytelling for CHAOS and BLINDSIDES.

That being said, it was the most palatable a live Tribal Council has ever been, and probably ever will be, because it just served as the backdrop for Ben to scold and yell at Adam for like three straight minutes and I definitely do not like Adam at all and think he's in contention for the worst confessional delivery in the history of the show, but I'm fully okay with him being a part of this season considering that his run ended with him embarrassing himself by trying to dismantle the Tribal Council set for a Hidden Immunity Idol that possibly only existed in his mind because of Survivor South Africa: Philippines (I can't say for certain whether or not this was Palesa's doing but Adam is absolutely the type of superfan who would watch foreign seasons of Survivor.) Hilarious ending that might just be worth the price of admission.

Tony's earnest "it's as if Sarah accidentally became a human and not the emotionless barbarian you have to be to win Survivor!" confessional was particularly egregious on this front, not least because this is the same man whose winning game involved making involuntary llama noises when threatened

I live for such a messy Adam eviction I can see why they edited him as a goofy dunce since the beginning, it was all leading up to this moment! He deserved to go.

I don't get why people got upset with Sarah giving away her reward to Nick. Show some love people, not everything is about strategy. I would have done the same knowing it was his birthday.

The editing looked weird tonight, and it lead to nowhere until the very end of the tribal council. But it was fun and chaotic. The messiness we didn't know we needed.
