Default Jason Manford has got a job in Iceland

He said he will give his wages to charity.

Am I the only one who thinks this is very selfish? There are people out there who may actually need that job to surive and he has taken that from them

He’s not taken anything from them if they’ve not applied for it. If there was a position advertised and people had applied then sure, I understand the uproar, but he’s most likely doing the bare minimum and everything he is doing goes to charity - it’s not a huge issue,

Well considering the money is going to charity I don't see what's selfish about it , he's being selfLESS if anything.

He might be more charitable if he helped his wife to homeschool all those kids.
If I was in lockdown with 6 kids I would offer my services.
Seriously though, well done to him and anyone else who offer to help.

What about someone who lost their jobs because they missed the furlough period?

I doubt he is doing a full week, he is a volunteer driver and probably does the odd shift

e replied: "I’m on it Iceland. Happy to do a shift if you can donate my wages to the charity I’m patron of, @CAFTcharity."
CAFT - the Children's Adventure Farm Trust - provides holidays and day visits to ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from the North West of England.
Jason originally applied for a job at a Tesco Express in Wilmslow, Cheshire, saying he wanted to "do my bit" for society after his theatre shows were cancelled.

But the supermarket sent him an email saying the job of customer assistant was "now closed", thanking him for applying during "these unprecedented times".
The 38-year-old star tweeted: "Absolutely livid @Tesco. I was only trying to do my bit. I hope the better person got and enjoys the job, I’ll be watching."
His rejection has robbed the nation of the chance to see Jason helping shoppers with their groceries alongside Peter Andre.
The 47-year-old Mysterious Girl singer backed him publicly on Instagram after he made his application, writing: "Jason if you get in I'll do it too with you. Deal?"

Iceland seem to be the only supermarket pushing the boundaries in terms of deliveries, of all the supermarkets they are the only one my 85 year old aunt can get a regular weekly shopping slot at, and they are delivering from 6am to 11pm at night

I do get what you are saying but charities are really suffering as well, so its a catch 22 for me Adam

He isn't taking a job from anyone, the good PR a story like this generates is worth the few hundred quid Iceland would spend paying his charities for his few shifts.

How utterly bizarre to call an act of charity selfish, though.
