Why So Serious?
|
I certainly did! What a grippingly, jaw dropping, brilliantly executed hell of an episode, a rollercoaster of pure emotion and one I didn't wanna get off from.
Devastated by Hank's death. I could see it coming from a mile away when the shootout began, knowing him and Gomez were outnumbered and outgunned. Even with the odds against them, and being friends for a long time, they went out in a blaze of glory! They're heroes, both of them. When Walt was begging Jack to spare Hank's life and begging Hank to just cooperate with them and forget about the investigation, I was shouting at the TV screen, really hoping that Hank would do it. However, I knew deep down that Hank wouldn't, he's a DEA of honour. That was a truly heartbreaking moment when Jack did shoot him and Walt collapsed to the ground in tears and despair. I didn't think anything could be sadder than Mike's death, but this has just topped it. Amazing acting from everyone. When Walt found where Jesse was hiding to Jack and his men retrieved him, I thought that was finally it for Jesse, my favourite character in the whole series was about to meet a terrible end. I'm suspicious of Todd's intentions when he intervened just as Jesse was about to be killed. That was sooooo cold of Walt to finally reveal to Jesse how Jane died, how he was there that night, how he could've stopped her but chose not to. How could you be so heartless, Walt? Walt had completely lost it when he took Holly and fled after his argument with Skyler and Walt Jr. I was indifferent to Walt Jr for most of the series but I loved him during that scene when his parents were fighting and he pulled Walt off his mother and called the cops on his father. The acting was incredible from Anna Gunn (Skyler) when Walt took Holly, really powerful and believable. And mess later on when Holly uttered her first word saying ''mama'' several times to a saddened Walt. Overall this has easily been the best episode of the whole series, one of the greatest TV episodes of all time, maybe even the greatest? Everyone's performances in this episode was beautiful, but Bryan Cranston was in a league of his own. He deserved every penny he got. Just need to finish off the last two episodes but I doubt they'll come anywhere close to episode 14. |

Poor Andrea.
I really wish we've gotten to see more of Todd, he's a very interesting character. I hope Walt gets revenge on Jack.

What an explosive and tearjerker finale that was.
I'm so happy Walt got revenge on Jack for killing Hank. I was worried for a second he wouldn't but I was satisfied when he did, and what a badass, genius and creative way to kill him and his men. I was so relieved when they brought Jesse out to show Walt that he was their prisoner and not their partner like Walt thought and Walt tackled him to the ground, used the remote unlock button to fire the machine gun through the building's walls, saving Jesse's life. Even after everything that's happened between them, Walt still cared enough about Jesse to prevent him from being killed. I loved it when Jesse strangled Todd, justice for Andrea and Drew Sharp was indeed served! It was also brilliant when Walt got revenge on Lydia too, planting the ricin in her tea during her meeting with Todd at the coffee shop. I'm so glad Jesse didn't kill Walt when he gave him the gun. He could've easily have killed him there and then especially after everything Walt's done to him, but like Walt he still cares deeply for him. The ending was so bittersweet. I'm delighted that Walt had met his end in a blaze of glory. This show is now easily my all time favourite TV show ever! One hell of a ride, packed with top tier acting, unforgettable moments and a host of glorious characters. 10/10. |

I really don't think Breaking Bad will ever be topped for me. Everything about it is so perfect basically. Such a glorious ride.
Episode 2 helped BCS grow on me a bit more but I'm a little tv show'd out atm from what I'm used to so I'll see next week whether I continue it right away or not.

I seriously miss this show </3 Need some kind of "10 years later..." or "20 years later..." type of sequel to it eventually! I'm sure it wouldn't have the same effect but still idc
Yeah I took a break from it about 5ish episodes in. Pretty good from what I saw but decided I needed a break from that show after the BB greatness. BCS just can't compete with it

I've read some reviews that have said it's better which I find hard to believe as BB was something else. Hopefully BCS will blow me away like BB did when I start it.

Finally watched El Camino last night and loved it! I love thriller films and this is easily up there. The suspense was great, the acting was incredible from Aaron Paul and the flashbacks were amazing. It was weird seeing Todd overweight. I know they filmed the movie 6 years after the show ended and the actor has changed but it was still weird.
I loved seeing Skinny Pete and Badger again. They were both fantastic supporting characters and I'm really glad they weren't killed off. They really need their own spin-off show. The only criticisms I can give are: 1. Mike and Jane's flashback cameos weren't long enough, especially the latter. They both played huge roles in the show and in Jesse's life but we only saw a few seconds of them compared to Walt's 5-10 minute flashback. I was so looking forward to seeing Jane again, but ended up being so disappointed. She only had 2 lines in a 30 second cameo wtf. 2. No Gus Fring. I was so disappointed to not see Gus again. Like Walt, Jane and Mike, he played a big role in Jesse's life so it would've been interesting to see a flashback between them, maybe one in which Gus complimented Jesse seeing as he was beginning to like him after the whole cartel drama and was thinking of Jesse becoming his apprentice or something. Literally anything just to see Gus. Apart from that, it was a great film and it concluded Jesse's arc perfectly. 8/10. |
